Today in the broad daylight, Pakistan’s Karachi has witnessed a terrorist attack. When Four attackers stormed into the building at 10 AM (05:00 GMT) on Monday morning as trading proceeded.
At least 6 people were killed in this incident in Karachi, with a policeman, civilian and four security guards among the dead after the attackers open fire and tossed a grenade at the trading floor, police explained.
Security forces have shot dead four of the gunmen who attempted to storm the Pakistan Stock Exchange building. Three police officials have been wounded, he further added.
The gunmen have stepped out of a vehicle and threw grenades before reaching the stock exchange premises. Police have recovered a considerable amount of AK-47 rifles, hand grenades, magazines and other explosive material in a backpack. The gear also reflected that they had come for a long siege.
The gunmen also referred to as a terrorist has ambushed the building, which is well known for the high-security location which also houses the head offices of many private banks.
Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon revealed that “The Four attackers have been killed, they came in a silver Corolla car and had an exchange of gunfire with security personnel”.
While the attack proceeded, still the Pakistan Stock Exchange did not suspend the trading, confessed by the managing director, Farrukh Khan.
On 2018, Separatists were accountable for an attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi.
This month, there were also 3 explosions on the exact day claimed by a little-known separatist group which killed four people comprising 2 soldiers in the southern territory of Sindh, of which Karachi is the capital.
In this attack on the Stock Exchange, there was yet not any claim of the attack by any militant group.
