The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the worst ever situation that the world has ever seen since the last one decade. While Starting from March, we were stuck inside our house with nationwide lockdown, the economy is declining, companies are also laying off their employees.

Among all these issues, the problem of student arises with the JEE & NEET exams. The JEE mains was scheduled to be held from 1st to 6th September and NEET on 13th September. The original date for JEE was from 4th-11th April, which was then shifted to 18th July & then 1st September.

The Biggest one day jump in COVID-19 cases in India as nearly 70,000 new Positive in the last 24 hours. In this way, the concern of students is totally right because to attend the exams, many of them will have to travel from different cities & states. This will be too risky and there are chances that it will also become one of the reasons for spreading the virus. And presently the heavy rain in many cities will result in more difficulties to travel at this time.

Around 2.46 Million students protesting on twitter with the hashtag of #protestagainstexamsincovid on 21st August. The BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy talked to HRD Minister and held an emergency meeting on 25th August which also include PM Modi with the education ministry including health ministry, home ministry.

After the mass twitter protest by students, Subramanian Swamy also wrote an official letter to PM Modi in which he includes other competitive exams focusing that traveling will be a risky option and added that “Holding the exam, in my opinion, will lead to a large number of suicides around the country of youth.”

The main reason to postpone the JEE-NEET exams is an increasing number of COVID-19 cases, but what if it will not be under control after Diwali also, then the exam will be postponed again? This should be the main point to be considered, what will be an alternative option for that? The question still arises.
