The novel corona virus in medical terms said Covid-19 has spread rapidly around all the continents and there is almost no country untouched by this pandemic. According to the recent data of WHO as of 20th March 2020 morning, there were more than 2,10,000 confirmed cases have emerged worldwide.
Back home at India, the situation does not look encouraging. We already crossed 200 confirmed cases which includes 63 recent cases on one day on 20th March 2020.
The infected people were confirmed to have come in contact with more than 6700 others and they are also kept under surveillance and asked to self-quarantine.
One of the crucial steps taken to prevent the spread is to set up universal screening process for all passengers travelling from infected countries and risk profiling them either for quarantine or isolation based on the assessment.
Our PM, Narendra Modi on 19th March 2020 night at 8 PM IST, addressed the nation through all the mediums and requested, advised & suggested the citizens to stay indoors and help the officials to contain the deadly virus..
He also urged all the citizens to be part of the “Janta Curfew” from 7 AM to 9 PM on March 22 2020, saying that no citizen should go out of their houses, except those serving for essential services. It will be a litmus test for all the Indians to fight back the corona virus and to get ready for the gloomy circumstances.
While addressing the nation for “Janta Curfew”, our respected PM has also expressed to show our gratitude to the community helpers viz doctors, nurses, paramedics, police, municipals staff and airport workers by going out on their balconies or standing at doors and windows at exactly 5 PM on 22nd March 2020, Sunday by clapping, banging on their plates or ringing bells. In deed, we are indebted to those people who are risking their lives to protect us or provide us the essential services.

Maharashtra: 52 positive cases, 5 negative cases
Kerala: 28 positive, 2 discharged
Rajasthan: 17 positive cases
Uttar Pradesh: 4 positive cases
West Bengal: 2 positive cases
Gujarat: 2 uncomfirmed cases
Countries like Italy, Iran, USA, Spain are finding it tough to contain the virus. Not to forget the woos of China. In this testing hours, India has managed to keep the virus relatively at bay. Spokesperson from WHO also showed confidence in India and stated that the spread of pandemic in the whole world depends on how India Fights back.
We have a great responsibility of not only protecting ourselves and our family but also showing the path to other countries how they can restrain this calamity and recover from it.
As citizens, we need to follow the instructions provided by credible sources and the government. We cannot be careless and should not think that the virus will never impact us. It is always better to be prepared than to be sorry.
